Richard Gottlieb, M.D. is a psychiatrist in
private practice in Phoenix, Arizona. A native
of Syracuse, N.Y., Dr. Gottlieb moved with his
family to the Phoenix area at age eleven. After
graduating from Scottsdale High School he earned
his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from
Arizona State University, where he graduated
Magna Cum Laude and was inducted into Phi Beta
Kappa. He earned his medical degree from the
University Of Arizona College Of Medicine in
Tucson. He then completed his Internship and
Residency in Psychiatry at Harbor-UCLA in
Torrance, California.
In 1986 he returned to Phoenix to set up his
private practice in psychiatry. He has practiced
there ever since. He is Board Certified in
General Psychiatry. He is also currently a
senior Clinical Associate at the Southern
California Psychoanalytic Institute, from which
he will soon graduate and earn a Psy.D. degree
in Psychoanalysis.
He is currently the President of the Southwest
Psychoanalytic Society. He is also the founder
and owner of PsycHealth, an Independent
Practitioner's Association. He is also the
founder, owner and Clinic Manager of Paradise
Valley Psychiatric Associates, the flagship
PsycHealth Member Clinic near Paradise Valley
Mall. Phoenix Magazine has named him one of the
Valley's "Top Docs" three out of the past five
years, an honor bestowed by vote of his
professional colleagues.
Dr. Gottlieb practices general psychiatry,
psychoanalytic psychotherapy and psychoanalysis.
He works 100% of his time in an outpatient,
private practice setting. He accepts most health
insurance plans for diagnostic evaluations and
medication management. He does psychotherapy and
psychoanalysis exclusively on a fee-for-service
basis.
