Catherin Snyder is a
graduate student in the Clinical Psychology
Psy.D. Program at Argosy University/Phoenix.
Catherin received her bachelor's degree from New
Mexico State University in 1998. In 2004, she
received a master's degree from Argosy
University. Catherin will complete requirements
for her Psy.D. in 2007.
Catherin has been an
active member of the Arizona Psychological
Community for the past four years. This stems
from her treatment of children as young as four
to adults in their nineties in a range of
settings in the Phoenix metropolitan area.
Catherin is a member of the Arizona
Psychological Association and she teaches
undergraduate psychology courses at Paradise
Valley Community College.
Catherin's passion
lies in her interest of psychoanalytic theory
and therapy. She has been studying
psychoanalytic literature for the past three
years. Her dissertation involved an intensive
review of the literature on psychoanalytic
perspectives of substance abuse and pathological
narcissism. This topic evolved out of her
longer-term treatment of an adult male
struggling with addiction. Catherin currently
attends psychoanalytic seminars sponsored by the
Southwest Institute for Psychoanalytic Studies
and she is involved in a directed study on
Contemporary Psychoanalysis.
Catherin's
presentation on Somatization is a newer area of
investigation for her. She hopes the group
enjoys her unique presentation style, which has
been cultured throughout her academic training
and teaching experience.
